"And thats the end . Thats the whole thing . we traveled , we practiced , we did the show , and then we went home .
Sometimes it isn’t glamorous . sometimes it’ isn’t parties and limousines and Uber credits . Sometimes it isn’t seeing new countries or adventuring new places with Lots of bright lights and free stuff and great food and having fun with your friends . A lot of times it can be just airports . A lot of times it can be staying inside the hotel . And lots of lots of times , it can be finding anywhere and anytime to sleep a little . It’s work
But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t great . or that the experience wasn’t amazing . That doesn’t mean there aren’t memories worth saving .
I find that this is where people get confused about the perks of this job . All that stuff I talked about in the beginning is great and awesome . but the true joy and reward from performing with Quest for a living is in the work . Sharing the stage and sharing our craft with people who have a passion for what we do . Breathing a little faster when we’re set on stage and the music starts to play and the lights come on anticipating the first move. the sense of satisfaction and overwhelming sense of pride when we finish the show and are able to finally look into the crowd . The moment right before we step onto the stage and all of Quest , no matter how tired or hurt we are , hype ourselves up to 100 and all exist on the same wave length with the same goal for the next six minutes knowing that we were going to be at our best and knowing that we weren’t going to let each other down . That kind of purity and focus is hard to find in the real world .
This show took roughly three weeks to build . about 14 hours a day . roughly 294 hours we spent together . You didn’t just watch a 6 minute show . you watched 294 hours worth of energy and spirit compacted into 6 minutes . Thats the perk .
I know in these shows , we often do meet and greets and it’s wonderful to see the fans that’ve support us and for them to get to see us. but i believe that when you watch us perform , thats when you see us at our most authentic selves "

The Gratitude Vlogs

In a world of unrest , road rage , spilled coffee and kicking rocks . I aiming to consciously pay attention to things I am grateful for . If I spend my day looking to film things I can be grateful for and then spend nights editing footage of all those things . Hopefully I will put myself in the constant frame of gratitude . I believe that it doesn’t have to be the big life moments that bring you gratitude that if you look for it , it happens everyday , in the quiet moments when you’re not paying attention .

Most of it is in the video but I wanted to mention in text that although it can be exhausting , I love these short trips and performances in random places . Traveling with Quest Crew is full of random experiences and never boring . I don't sleep enough or get enough rest but that's completely worth it . And now I want to make sure that I sleep and rest even less in order to capture these experiences for me , you , and future me .

  • Me - Because while living in the moment , I can also look at it and appreciate every moment as it's happening and constantly be paying attention to what is in front of me
  • You - Because sharing these funny , stupid , inspiring , nonsensical , casual , quiet moments will perhaps give you insight , or inspiration , or at least entertain you in some way .
  • Future me - Because life isn't forever , and all we have is ourselves and our memories . I want to be able to look at this and remember the good , the bad , and the many ridiculous ways I choose to spend our my life .

Oh and I know not everyone likes to read captions in a video , but it does explain a lot of whats happening if you do choose to pause and take a quick read .

enjoy
